Honoring Your Identity: A Journey of Self-Discovery

Identity is complex and multifaceted, shaped by your experiences, the world around you, and the many aspects of your being. As a queer therapist, I understand the unique challenges and joys of exploring your identity. Whether you're diving into questions about your queer identity, how you navigate systems not built for you, or other parts of yourself, I'm here to walk alongside you on this journey.

As your therapist, I'll provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore these intersections with curiosity and compassion.

In this exploration of LGBTQ+ therapy, it is likely that we'll explore how all parts of your identities intersect.

  • Maybe you're exploring how your ancestry and families of origin inform your queerness.

  • Or how class, ability, or faith impacts your experience of gender.

Whatever you're navigating, this is a space where your identities are honored.

Gender and Identity Exploration

Gender exploration often means peeling back layers of societal norms, letting go of rigid roles, and creating space for joy, play, and experimentation. We’ll work together to dismantle the internalized messages of what you “should” be so that you can come into your whole, authentic, beautiful being.

If you’re exploring your gender or seeking a space to process your identity, you deserve an affirming space. Summit Therapy in Denver, Colorado, is here to partner with you in creating that space.

This is a space where you can:

  • Explore gender expression

  • Engage in play, experimentation, and joy

  • Dismantle internalized messages of who you “should” be

  • Welcome your whole, authentic, beautiful being

  • Reconnect with your values

Centering Intersecting Identities

I approach therapy with an understanding that our identities are not separate—they intersect and inform one another. As a queer-affirming therapist in Colorado, I also recognize that your experiences are shaped by race, culture, class, ability, and more. Our work together will honor the unique challenges and strengths that come with navigating the world as your whole, multifaceted self.

In this space, you’ll find a therapist who values all aspects of your identity and works to understand how systems of power and oppression impact your mental health. We’ll not only focus on your individual journey but also explore how these systems impact your well-being and sense of self.

Serving Colorado’s LGBTQ+ Community

As a therapist based in Colorado, I’m deeply committed to serving the LGBTQ+ community and providing a safe space for queer and trans individuals to explore their identities. Whether you’re in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, or elsewhere in the state, my practice is here to support you. Letters for Gender-Affirming Care

Letters to access gender-affirming care are a statement that informs the required parties that a client is ready and able to provide informed consent for treatment. Many insurance companies, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) recommends or requires letters to access services. Letters include a psychosocial assessment and an explanation that the client has met criteria for surgery or hormone replacement therapy (HRT). If you are interested in receiving a gender-affirming letter to access healthcare, please see my page on letters for more information.
